Manpacks Hands-on: Grooming Lounge Some Hair Cream Review
Let’s be honest: hair products have a bad rap. Need proof? See Exhibit A:
The connection between hair product and preening narcissists with regrettable style (and often life choices) seem to go hand in hand. From zoot-suited gangsters with oily, slicked-back coifs, 50′s greasers with Brylcream duck tails and pompadours, 70′s hairspray disco dudes, the sins of the 80′s mousse and gel, and more recently, the rock-hard spikes on Growing Up Gotti and Jersey Shore, as long there have been hair styling products there have been people abusing them.
Admittedly, when I was sent some Grooming Lounge Some Hair Cream to review I was initially less than enthused. However, after using it, I’m a convert.
So what is Some Hair Cream?
It’s probably easiest to start with what it isn’t: it isn’t a goopy, sticky, stiff concoction that will make your hair look like a Manga character’s ‘do. Within the signature, blue Grooming Lounge bottle is a very light product that is neither sticky nor greasy. It has a light, neutral scent that fades away very quickly. Squeeze out a small amount (I used a drop about the size of a dime) run it through your slightly damp hair, finger style and go.
It dries soft, with a matte finish (sorry, Fonzie, move along) that doesn’t feel sticky, stiff, or crunchy. It doesn’t offer much in the way of hold, so what does it do? I guess the best way to describe it is as a wingman for your hair: it makes helps your hair look its best by deflecting detractors. It holds your hair up with a little extra texture, keeps things smooth, and helps you look cool and natural.
So who’s it for? Obviously not for guys with more extreme styles. No, it’s ideal for guys who hair style is a very simple and clean. It’s the un-styling product: something for someone who wants a little tonsorial boost but doesn’t want to look like they use a styling product.
Reach for Some Hair Cream if you need something to quickly comb in in the morning or after the gym for a simple and unfussy cut. If you’ve got a little more length or texture in your hair, it’s great for preventing frizz, fly-aways, and taming static if. Or maybe things are getting a bit thinner up there and you want a little more volume or texture. No worries: Some Hair Cream has you covered.
Perhaps the best thing I can say about Grooming Lounge Some Hair Cream is that people probably won’t notice that your using it other than asking if your got a new haircut or changed something.
Subtle. Helping you look good. Helping you get positive attention. That’s the mark of a true wingman.
